Every year from the wars on our planet is dying more than ten thousand people. Basically I am referring to the civilian population. These include children, women and elderly people. Just at that moment the world is witnessing several dozen armed conflicts. And ordinary people know nothing about most of them.

This is the reason why the most important common good for out planet, namely peace, must be spoken about honestly via the Internet, books and movies. Here I would like to recall Bertolt Brecht’s quote: «all art forms are in the service of the greatest of all arts: the art of living.

The International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers is a unique public organization. Over four years of its existence it managed to bring together those who used to confront one another only recently. I am speaking of NATO and Warsaw Pact countries veterans who are now working together. Officers who devoted their lives to defend their countries have joined efforts to protect the planet.

The committee has its own Knighthood Order award. It decorates heads of states for a special contribution to support veteran organizations. And thus it attracts global attention to the issues of common friendship and mutual understanding.

To outline the issue of violence on our planet, the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers has announced the establishment of the international festival of documentary films and television programs «For a world without wars and armed conflicts.
The main prize is a specially produced for the festival «Crystal World» statuette symbolizing the fragility of our planet. The award is given in four categories:

  • Best Documentary;
  • Best TV show;
  • Best social advertisement;
  • For the documentation contribution;
  • Audience Award.

If your creative works say «no to war», if you or your colleagues find the issue of non-violence urgent, if you along with the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers are concerned about cruelty around us then the festival is for you! We are waiting for you at the first festival of documentary films and television programs «For a world without wars and armed conflicts». Make your contribution to the art of living on the planet.

Director General of the International Film Festival «For a world without wars and armed conflicts»
