On December 8, 2011 Chairman of the International Advisory Council of Organizations of Reserve Officers(IAC), member of the Russian Federation Public Chamber Alexander Kanshin hosted in the head — quarters of the IAC attaché on defence issues of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Russian Federation Mr. Alexander Samigin.

There was an exchange of opinions aimed at studying ways to establish direct contacts between the IAC member — entities and the Association of Reserve Officers of Belgium as well as bilateral cooperation of the National Association of Unions of the Armed Forces Reserve Officers (MEGAPIR) and colleagues from Belgium.

Alexander Kanshin briefed the Belgium diplomat on the IAC concept of foundation and main areas of its activities as well as on the Megapir Association comprehensive activities. Museum showpieces and printed production made by the Military and Philosophy Society and the Megapir Publishing House were demonstrated to the guest.

Alexander Samigin voiced confidence that cooperation between organizations of reserve officers under the auspices of the IAC and bilateral contacts meet interests of reserve officers. As far as the cooperation proposal made by the IAC Secretariat and the Megapir Association is concerned «it is of evident interest as there are no obstacles to establish constructive interaction with colleagues from Belgium," according to Mr. Samigin.

Alexander Kanshin handed over the diplomat from Belgium a range of materials on activities of the IAC coupled with the Megapir Association and stated that «we have come to the conclusion that similar meeting are of mutual interest and will be continued still further.»

Executive Secretary of the IAC Anatoly Kumakhov also took part in the meeting. «The meeting held today has become yet another step of extension of contacts among reserve officers of different countries within the framework of activities of the Intrernational Advisory Council," he noted at the end of the discussion.
