INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN ACTION "MISSION OF PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP" 5 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF ORGANIZATIONS OF RESERVE OFFICERS

The Secretariat of the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers (IAC), with the assistance of the Club of Generals of the Slovak Republic, held the International Humanitarian Action " Mission of Peace and Friendship" and 5th General Assembly of the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers in Bratislava on 9 May 2017 with participation delegations from organizations within the IAC, including a large generals group of the Club of Slovak generals, led by its President F. Blanarik. As an observers it was attended by the President of the World Veterans Federation of D-B. Bergtun (Kingdom of Norway) and General Secretary and responsible for Foreign Relations of National Association of Military in Reserve of Albania E. Ajdari (Republic of Albania).

President of the Club of Slovak Generals F. Blanarik addressed with a greeting to the participants.

In accordance with the IAC Charter presented a report of the Presidium and the Secretariat of the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers for a five-year period of work (2012-2017), which was presented by the President of the IAC Alexander Kanshin, in the form of a video-report, and were held the elections of the President, and the Secretary General and the Vice-presidents of the IAC.

The members of the Presidium - President of the IAC Alexander Kanshin and vice-presidents made reports on the work and in the debate participated: Anatoly Boyko, and Laurent Attar-Bayrou, and Vidoje Pantelić is the ex-President of the Assembly of the Club of Generals and Admirals of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the leaders of the organizations comprising the IAC Karoly Hazuga (Hungary), Ahmed A. Al-Efishat (Jordan), Soltan Kabolov (Russia), Pavel Bandovich (Montenegro), Mordechai Avigad (Israel), Stoyan Topalov (Bulgaria) and President of the World Veterans Federation Dan-Viggo Bergtun.

With great attention participants Assembly met performance S. Kabolov whith the example monstrous terrorist act in Beslan in 2004, which led to the death of hundreds of people, including about two hundred children, stressed the need for effective counteraction to terrorists, the inadmissibility of repeating such atrocities.

All speakers expressed their appreciation for the work of the Presidium and the Secretariat of IAC for the reporting period.

In the report of the President of the IAC and speeches of other participants of the Assembly, sounded the need for the world community to take all necessary measures to counter international terrorism and prevent new military conflicts sounded. First of all, the solutions to all pressing problems must be by diplomatic means.

At the 5th General Assembly A. Kanshin was elected President of the IAC, and A. Kumakhov was appointed General Secretary. Were also elected six vice-presidents of the IAC: F. Blanarik - Chairman of the Generals Club of Slovakian Republic, and A. Boiko - Chairman of the Board of the Public Organization of Reserve Officers of the Armed Forces "Officers' Honor - UKRAINE", and L. Attar-Bayrou - Chairman of the French Federation of Veterans of Foreign Operations and President of the International Association of Peacekeeping Forces, and A.A. Al-Efishat - General Director & Chairman of Executive Board of Economic & Social Association of Retired Servicemen & Veterans (ESARSV) of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and S. Topalov - Chairman of the Central Council of "Union of Officers and Sergeants of reserve stock in the Republic of Bulgaria, and B. Yertayev - Chairman of the Public Association "Veterans of the Armed Forces», Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participants of 5th General Assembly of IAC unanimously adopted the final document – the Memorandum on «Measures to enhance the efforts of the international community of organizations of reserve officers and veterans in countering terrorism and extremism». In its concentrated form it is reflected deep concern over the current situation of peace-loving forces in the world and the need for joint action.

In particular, the Memorandum underscored that the participants of the International humanitarian action " Mission of Peace and Friendship" and 5th General Assembly of the International Advisory Committee of Organizations of Reserve Officers, who know the true value of war and peace, address the heads of state and government, and the public, and veteran and youth organizations with an appeal "to take urgent, coordinated measures to prevent further escalation of tension in a world that has reached a threatening level. The most important task facing peace-loving forces today – is active consolidated actions of the entire international community in the interests of resolutely combating terrorism in all its manifestations. There is no alternatives to the fight against terrorism on the basis of the constant collective efforts of the international community, regardless of the political situation. The central coordinating role in this work belongs to the United Nations. It is important to prevent creeping of international tension to the point of "non-return".

Taking into account the great contribution to the work of the IAC, V. Pantelić (ex-vice-president of the IAC, former president of the Assembly of the Club of Generals and Admirals of the Republic of Serbia) was elected as Honorary Vice-President of the IAC.

Head of the Ukrainian organization A. Boiko for his great contribution to the his work was awarded the Order "For Chivalry" - the highest award of the IAC.

Medal of IAC "Officers solidarity" were awarded to a number of newly elected leaders of IAC organizations and participants of the action.

President of the World Veterans Federation D-V. Bergtun presented to IAC President A. Kanshin the Honorary Medal "Veteran" of the World Veterans Federation for his great contribution to the support of veterans.

At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Slovakia A. Fedotov, participants of the 5th General Assembly of IAC took part in the solemn ceremony of laying wreaths at the Monument to soldiers who died during the liberation of Slovakia from fascists. The delegation from the participants of the Assembly also took part in the State Reception at the Russian Embassy, organized on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The noble "Mission of Peace and Friendship" will be continued.
