Meeting with the US Ambassador

May 25, 2011. Meeting of Chairman of the Board of directors of National Association of Unions of the Armed Forces Reserve Officers (MEGAPIR) Alexander Kanshin and Chairman of the Board of directors of Group of companies «Megapir» Alexander A. Kanshin with Ambassador of the United States of America to the Russian Federation John Beyrle.

The negotiations were held in the residency of the embassy — the old mansion of Spaso House.

During the meeting they exchanged views on several areas of Russian — American cooperation, discussed prospects of activity of the International Advisory Council of Organizations of Reserve Officers, the first meeting of which was scheduled for 15 June 2011 in Moscow.

«Nowadays it is of great importance for us that Russia has been actively cooperating with public associations from America, Asia and Europe, participating in various international projects, disputes and conferences. Reserve officers are also taking an active part in the events," Alexander Kanshin said.

John Beyrle was handed in a meeting invitation and a news bulletin on prehistory and development of the Council, as well as its main areas of activities. «On June 15 there would be defined the main areas IAC activities and organizational issues. The association has no parallel in the world entrusted with a mission to consolidate officers of different countries. Today’s meeting has proved that both Moscow and Washington take the development of «people’s democracy» between our states very seriously," Alexander Kanshin noted.

The issues of the international terrorism and extremism were also discussed in the course of the meeting, there was also made an emphasis on the importance for not only the law enforcement and security agencies, but a wide range of community including veterans and retired officers resolve these topical problems.

Head of the «Megapir» Group of companies Alexander Kanshin (junior) participated in the meeting as well. He briefed the diplomats on an active and multifaceted support of IAC given to the Junior Achievement Interregional Public Association which has been working in 122 countries including Russia. The association provides theoretical and practical education of the outlines of Economics and entrepreneurship. «The Russian program was founded by Research Centrе Kurchatov Institute President academician Evgeny Velikhov,« — he said.
