On 12 March, 2012 at the headquarters of the International Advisory Council of Organizations of Reserve Officers (IAC) there was received a delegation of the Association of Reserve Officers and Veterans of Jordan, and also the military attaché of this country in Russia.

Guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the Committee of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on National Security and Socio-economic living conditions of the military, their families and veterans, the head of the National Association of Unions of the Armed Forces Reserve Officers (MEGAPIR) Kanshin Alexander, Executive Secretary of the ISS Anatoly Kumakhov, Chief of Staff — First Deputy Chairman of the Board Directors 'MEGAPIR» Vladimir Bogatyrev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of «MEGAPIR» on economy, Alexander Alexeyev.

Alexander Kanshin elaborated to Jordanian counterparts about the main directions of the IAC, the Committee of the RF Public Chamber and events, which they had carried out, the activity of Russian reserve officers in the framework of «MEGAPIR." He also invited them to attend the second meeting of the IAC, which will be held in May this year in Bratislava, and expressed hope that Russian-Jordanian cooperation will grow and strengthen. According to Alexander Kanshin, «during the Second World War, the Soviet people suffered huge losses, so we know well — what war is and what its consequences are." «The reserve officers are trying to prevent new victims by the methods of «public diplomacy», strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding, transfer of this peaceful experience to new generations,« — he said.

For his part, the President of the Executive Board of the Association of Reserve Officers and the Veterans of Jordan Abdulsalam Abdalrahman Mohammad Hasanat reported about the activity of his organization, whose membership is more than 60,000 reserve officers, many of whom work in government and various business structures. He underlined the prospects of participation of Jordan in the IAC, and also bilateral cooperation with the Russian reserve officers for both social and economic projects.

The administrative Director of the Executive Board of the Association of Reserve Officers and Veterans of Jordan Ali Hassan Abdellatif Alkaka noted the importance of the current meeting, put great hopes on the future of the IAC and emphasized the prospects of bilateral cooperation with the «MEGAPIR." Jordan’s military attaché, Brigadier General Hossein Aladayleh expressed a desire to render all possible assistance to this work and to strengthening the Jordanian-Russian friendship. Visitors from Amman expressed a desire that their Association should be a full member of the IAC and invited the Russian party to take part in the Assembly of the International Union of veterans' organizations, which will be held in Jordan this November. They also informed about the extensive work on the involvement of reserve officers in the Jordanian social and economic life of the country, carried out and promising business projects of the Association in construction, agriculture, logistics and security services. Alexander Kanshin noted that «active work is also in hand in this direction in Russia, as many officers and military pensioners are full of vitality, energy, creative ideas and desire to benefit their homeland.»

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Association Alexander Kanshin bestowed medals to counterparts from Jordan «For Contribution to the veteran movement," signs of the IAC and souvenirs. In turn, visitors from Amman transferred to the IAC museum an emblem of Jordanian Association of Reserve Officers and presented commemorative signs of their organization to Russians. The guests were also shown footages of the First Channel and the studio «Megapirfilm» about meeting in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation of Committee on National Security and IAC with representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign states on February 16, 2012. During his visit to Moscow, our Jordanian colleagues were offered an extensive cultural program. In particular, they visited the Central Museum of Armed Forces and the memorial of the Great Patriotic War on the Poklonnaya Gora (Hill of Respectful Salutation).
